齐白石（1864-1957），原名纯芝，字渭青，号兰亭，后改名璜，字濒生，号白石、白石山翁、老萍、饿叟、借山吟馆主者、寄萍堂上老人、三百石印富翁，湖南湘潭人。齐白石早年曾为木工，后以卖画为生，书画印皆绝。齐白石主张艺术“妙在似与不似之间”，衰年变法，形成独特的大写意国画风格，开红花墨叶一派，尤以瓜果菜蔬花鸟虫鱼为工绝，兼及人物、山水，笔墨雄浑滋润，色彩浓艳明快，造型简练生动，意境淳厚朴实，天趣横生，达到了中国现代花鸟画最高峰。其书法工篆隶，取法于秦汉碑版，行书饶古拙之趣；印风雄奇恣肆，自成一家，为近现代印风嬗变期代表人物。浓厚的乡土气息和天真浪漫的童心，富有余味的诗意，是齐白石艺术的内在生命；而那热烈明快的色彩，浑朴稚拙的造型和笔法，工与写的极端合成，平正见奇的构成，则是齐白石艺术的外在生命。齐白石晚年荣誉与社会身份不胜枚举，文化部授予其“人民艺术家”称号，世界和平理事会推举为世界文化名人。著有《借山吟馆诗草》、《白石诗草》、《白石印草》、《白石老人自传》等。出版有《齐白石全集》等各种画集近百种。

近期我公司征集了一幅齐白石的《草虫图》，典藏尺寸长83cm、宽44.5cm。工笔贝叶草虫是白石老人于中国画创作中独创的绘画题材。贝叶即菩提树叶，北方并不得见，多产于广东、广西地区，叶呈卵形，叶端尖长。纵观本次藏品，齐白石笔下的工细草虫配以写意贝叶，极富韵味，草虫工而不板，贝叶张合有度，对比强烈。所画的三只草虫均细致入微，栩栩如生。植物的茎画的虬劲有力，屋漏痕的笔意画出了叶茎的粗糙感与力度，折叉股的笔意又表现出了茎的韧性。贝叶采用了兼工带写的方法，先用圆润的线条勾出叶的筋脉，再以粗笔淡色加以晕染。叶子画的既有工笔的严谨与精致之感，又有意笔的水墨交融氤氲的韵味，薄如蝉翼，透明感很强，成为协调茎的写意与昆虫的工细之间的过渡与衔接，使画面浑然一体、协调统一。昆虫的刻画非常精致，形神兼备，生动传神，头与身子用笔细而不腻，精细入微。小昆虫骨骼的硬度，翅膀的透明度，须的纤巧与灵敏，行动时脚的配合与协调，昆虫与昆虫之间微妙的呼应关系，昆虫与植物之间的呼应，都深入而精细地刻画出来，跃然纸上。昆虫在枝叶之间怡然自得的穿梭、跳跃，使这幅画更为真实、生动，富有艺术魅力。
